Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, Episode 22, "World's End" EXPECTATIONS

Sorry this is going up so late, and that my Iron Fist article didn’t get done yesterday.  It’s been a busy weekend, but hopefully everything will be coming out on time this week.  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season four ends tonight with the season finale, “World’s End” (4x22) at 10:00 PM Eastern/Pacific.  What do we expect from tonight's season finale?

What happened in the last episode, “The Return”?
Having just returned to the real world, the team must deal with the ramifications of everything that happened.  AIDA must adjust to life (which is pretty cool), while Fitz must deal with his feelings for both AIDA and Simmons.  AIDA saves Mack from drowning using her (stolen) Inhuman powers, but then turns on S.H.I.E.L.D. when Fitz rejects her.  She instead teams up with Ivanov to remake the world the way that they want it to look.  Because Mack is still in the Framework, Yo-Yo decides to go in to save him.  The episode ends with Ghost Rider stepping out of a portal from the other dimension.

Episode Synopsis for “World’s End”:

With the surprising emergence of Ghost Rider, Coulson and the team attempt to stop Aida from ending the world

Continuing plot points:

  • How will the characters’ experiences within the Framework affect them outside the Framework?
  • How can they defeat AIDA when she has all-but-unlimited power?
  • Mack is still inside the Framework—even though he knows it to be false

What I am looking for tonight:

  • A lot of awesome effects and action
  • Ghost Rider will be the only one who can really stop AIDA
  • At least a couple touching moments with Mack and Yo-Yo, Fitz and Simmons, Coulson and May, etc.—just not too much!
  • Mack and Yo-Yo being inside the Framework will come into play at some point, perhaps if AIDA attempts to bring the Framework into the real world
  • By the end of the episode we’ll have a pretty good idea of what season 5 will bring
  • Vijay is the only major loose end of the season, so I expect him to play some role

What would be awesome but probably won’t happen:
A Ghost Rider series is announced right after the episode airs

So what are you looking for in tonight’s episode?  What is there that you really want to see but may not see at all?
