Weekly MCU Review for April 29

Another week, and more MCU news!  Not a ton of MCU-related news this week, but only because I didn’t include the mountains of press for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which hits theaters next weekend.  Put some ketchup on your eggs, and catch-up on your Marvel news!

My articles from the week

First up, my thoughts on the roster for the upcoming New Warriors series.

I reviewed two Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes this week:  episode 18, “No Regrets,” and episode 19, “All the Madame’s Men.”  What are you most excited about for the last 3 episodes of the season?

Finally, if you or someone you know is new to the MCU and wants to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 next week, check out my “Too Long; Didn’t Watch” summary of the MCU to-date.

Luke Cage season 2 will begin filming this June and wrap next March.

Anything not related to the MCU that I find interesting

The live-action Titans series (which is confirmed to include Beast Boy, in addition to Robin (Dick Grayson), Starfire, and Raven—sounds like the original Teen Titans animated series) will air on DC’s own streaming service, as will Young Justice season 3.  Disappointing that Young Justice won’t be on Netflix.

Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars Episode IX will premiere on May 24, 2019.

According to Jon Favreau, the live-action Lion King will premiere on July 19, 2019.

Frozen 2 received a November 27, 2019 release date.

Indiana Jones 5 (oh right, that’s happening…) got pushed back a year to July 10, 2020.  It was originally slated for July 19, 2019, but now Lion King is taking that date.  I really hope they actually get it right—THAT MEANS NO ANCIENT ALIENS, GUYS!!!!
