Agents of
S.H.I.E.L.D. returns tonight with “The Dirty Half Dozen” (2x19) at 9:00 PM
Eastern/Pacific. What do we expect from tonight's episode?
What happened in
the last episode, “The Frenemy of My Enemy”?
Coulson teamed up with
Ward to put Bakshi undercover with Liszt and Hydra (with Deathlok as
backup). Gordon brought Skye and Cal to
Milwaukee where Skye was planning to let him know that they were not bringing
him back to Lai Shi. Lincoln followed
them on Jiaying’s orders to protect Skye.
Hydra tracked the Inhumans to Milwaukee and sent in a team to capture
Gordon. Coulson’s team confronted Hydra,
and in the confusion Deathlok and Lincoln were captured by Hydra (on Bakshi’s
orders). Coulson allowed himself to be
taken in by Bobbi and Mack to meet with Gonzales.
Episode Synopsis
for “The Dirty Half Dozen”:
“Gonzales and Coulson
must find a way to put their differences aside and work together against HYDRA,
even if it means teaming up with someone they don’t trust.”
Continuing plot
points:
- Skye’s powers and the Inhumans
- The “Real S.H.I.E.L.D.”/“S.H.I.E.L.D.” conflict
- Hydra vs. the S.H.I.E.L.D.s
- So what is Ward up to?
- The tie-in between Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Setting up the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff for next year
What I am looking
for tonight:
- There will be a lot of disagreements between the original members of Coulson’s team—not least because Coulson’s working with Ward
- Coulson and Gonzales will have their second confrontation—but not the last
- Both S.H.I.E.L.D.s will contribute resources toward a mission to rescue Deathlok
- A few Inhumans will show up to help rescue Lincoln
- I don’t think the whole thing will be resolved in this episode, setting up things for Avengers: Age of Ultron as well as the opening of “Scars” (2x20)
What would be
awesome but probably won’t happen:
When Coulson and
Gonzales discuss the “dangerous cargo” that the Iliad is carrying:
The “dangerous cargo”
turns out to be an Infinity Stone.
And even more
awesome: cameos by Strucker,
Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and/or Hawkeye.
So what are you
looking for in tonight’s episode? What
is there that you really want to see but may not see at all?

AoU is actually in theaters Thursday night.

If Hawkeye is actually gonna appear like was the early speculation, I would think it would have to be tonight.

One "It would be awesome" that I didn't include (but considered) was for the Age of Ultron TV spot with Hawkeye trying to take out a pillbox defended by Quicksilver to be included as the last scene of "The Dirty Half Dozen," ending with Hawkeye calling Hill and saying, "Fine. You were right. Send in the team."
