Weekly MCU Review for 11/28

Another week, and more MCU news!  Jessica Jones has been out for a week—has everyone watched it?  The Civil War trailer was released Tuesday!  Fant4stic 2 is dead in the water… is that even surprising?  And a ton of DC rumors!  Put some ketchup on your eggs, and catch-up on your Marvel news!

Mostly MCU Reviews

My articles from the week

What with the whole “Jessica Jones came out last Friday” thing, three of my four articles for this week are about Jessica Jones:  non-spoiler reviews of the first half and second half of the series, as well as a spoiler review of the first episode, “AKA Ladies Night.”  What do you think of the series if you’ve seen it?  Just keep spoilers out of the comment section of the non-spoiler reviews!

And then, to make up for no Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this week, here are my thoughts on the possibility of Miles Morales in the MCU.  Do you want to see him eventually, and if so, when?

An early Christmas present:  Chris Evans and RDJ premiered the first trailer and new posters for Captain America: Civil War on Tuesday night!  That trailer… absolutely incredible!  I think that makes up for not having Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Tuesday, wouldn't you say?

Here is a new synopsis for Civil War released with the trailer.  What are your thoughts?

In more AoS-less-Tuesday news, Marvel officially announced the start of production on Doctor Strange.

There is a new rumor that Marvel is casting Natalia Cordova-Buckley to play Yo-Yo Rodriguez, a.k.a. Slingshot, on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  Slingshot is one of the Secret Warriors from the comics, and the daughter of Johnny Horton, a.k.a. the Griffin, who was actually referenced by Garrett as the first prisoner he ever brought to the Fridge.  She has the ability of super-speed, with the added twist that she always “slingshots” back to her starting location.  As of now this is just a rumor reported by a single source, but if it is true it would be the first (second including Daisy) member of the comic book Secret Warriors team to join the TV iteration of the team.  Do you want to see Slingshot on the Secret Warriors?  I sure do!

Here is a new promo teaser for Agent Carter season 2.  Who do you think that is frozen in ice?

Sonia Braga has been cast as Soledad Temple, Claire’s mother, in Luke Cage.

Anything not related to the MCU that I find interesting

In a completely unsurprising move, FOX finally removed the Fantastic Four sequel from its release schedule.  Did anyone not see that move coming?  Anyone?  Bueller?

There’s a new rumor that Black Canary will be introduced in Justice League Part 1 to set her up for a future appearance in a Birds of Prey movie.

There’s a rumor that Supergirl and Flash could cross over before next year’s “sweeps week,” which would expand the interconnected DCTVU to include 5 series on 3 networks (including Constantine on NBC after Matt Ryan’s appearance on Arrow this season).  The article suggests that there would need to be some retconning to make Superman and Supergirl fit into the DCTVU, but I really don’t think so: since when does the news in Central City and Starling City need to report on Superman saving the day in Metropolis?  There’s more than enough happening in those cities for Superman’s more mundane acts to not require much mention.

There’s another rumor (DC’s got a lot of those this week!) that Constantine will become a series regular in Legends of Tomorrow season 2.  Want to see more of Matt Ryan?
