Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3, Episode 13, "Parting Shot" EXPECTATIONS

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues tonight with “Parting Shot” (3x13) at 9:00 PM Eastern/Pacific.  What do we expect from tonight's episode?

What happened in the last episode, “The Inside Man”?
Coulson and Talbot attended a symposium on the Inhuman situation to find out if any of the participants were harboring Inhumans and to discover and follow Malick’s “inside man” at the symposium.  However, the “inside man” turned out to be Talbot himself, whose son had been kidnapped by Malick shortly after he was appointed head of the A.T.C.U.  Coulson and his team rescue Talbot’s son (aided by Talbot’s superhuman bodyguard, none other than Carl “Crusher” Creel, a.k.a. “Absorbing Man”) and stop Hydra.  Bobbi and Hunter follow the Russian delegate, who returns home with Malick to discuss the possibility of founding an Inhuman sanctuary in Russia.

Meanwhile, Simmons discovers that Creel’s blood may contain the answer to an “Inhuman cure,” as he is the only human to have touched the Diviner and survived.

Oh, and while we’re at it, they also namedropped Eden Fesi, a.k.a. “Manifold,” a mutant teleporting member of the Secret Warriors from the comics, as an Inhuman being held and experimented on by the Australian delegate.  At the end of the episode it was revealed that Coulson had sent in a team to rescue him.

Finally, Hive “made a believer out of” Lucio, a.k.a. “Medusa Eyes,” and used his 2 Inhumans to round up 5 healthy humans which he ate to fully regain his strength.

Episode Synopsis for “Parting Shot”:

“After tracking Malick to Russia, Bobbi and Hunter become involved in an assassination plot; the team is changed forever as they race to save lives in the balance.”

Continuing plot points:

  • Coulson’s new hand
  • Skye rebuilding the Inhumans and recruiting her Secret Warriors simultaneously
  • The “Terrigen Bomb—Fish Oil Version”
  • Ward/Hive and Malick rebuilding Hydra and recruiting Inhuman drones
  • The Sokovia Accords/Superhuman Civil War

What I am looking for tonight:

  • This episode will at the very least set up a backdoor pilot for Marvel’s Most Wanted—and may very well be the backdoor pilot
  • The “Inhuman cure” will continue to divide the team
  • More Inhuman powers will be displayed
  • We will get an update on Eden Fesi (even if he doesn’t appear)
    • I expect that he will join the Secret Warriors by the end of the season.  You don’t namedrop a powerful member of the comic book Secret Warriors, reveal that S.H.I.E.L.D. rescued him, and then just not use him as part of your Secret Warriors!

What would be awesome but probably won’t happen:
The Russian reveals that Russia has actually been recruiting its own team of Inhumans and other super-humans, called the Winter Guard, and a group of the Secret Warriors must fight the Winter Guard before they can escape Russia.

So what are you looking for in tonight’s episode?  What is there that you really want to see but may not see at all?
