Weekly MCU Review for 2/18

Another week, and more MCU news!  Not a ton of new MCU news, though Cloak and Dagger and Inhumans both have some rumors to delve into.  Put some ketchup on your eggs, and catch-up on your Marvel news!

My articles from the week

Here are my expectations and review of this week’s AoS episode, “The Man Behind the Shield.”  The arc will conclude next week, at which point the show will j(likely) go on break for a month or so.

Here are my thoughts on what the next story arc will be.  What do you want to see as the next arc?

Here is some more casting for Cloak and Dagger.

Rumor Has It that something is happening with Namor the Sub-Mariner in Hawaii.  Could he be appearing in Marvel’s Inhumans?  Could this be a secret TV pilot?  Either would be exciting to me!  I'll have some further thoughts later today or tomorrow, but let the speculation commence!

News from Around Geekdom

Anything not related to the MCU that I find interesting

So there’s a rumor that Ben Affleck no longer wants to play Batman in the DCEU.  As of now there’s no substantiation, but I know I would be disappointed to see him leave.  To be honest, he was the best part of Batman v. Superman, and there’s no close second.

In other Batman news, Matt Reeves is no longer in talks to direct the movie.  It’s pretty disappointing to see how much difficulty the DCEU has been having in getting off the ground.

Since I know that positively tens of you are curious to know what happened to Jar Jar Binks after Revenge of the Sith, here is the answer, courtesy Star Wars Aftermath: Empire’s End:  He became a street performer on Naboo.

Here is some casting news for Disney’s live-action Lion King movie:  Donald Glover (who seems to be in everything these days) will voice the adult Simba, and (fortunately) James Earl Jones will be back to voice Mufasa.

Do you remember Hook starring Robin Williams?  Dante Basco is producing a prequel focusing on his character, Rufio, that will air on his YouTube channel this April.  That sounds pretty cool!

Before I forget, if anyone is considering a return to Pokémon GO, now would be a good time since Generation 2 was released just 2 days ago!
