My articles from the week

The only articles for this week are expectations and review for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4 midseason premiere, "Broken Promises."

Ant-Man and the Wasp will film this June.  When can we expect more news about it?

Who should Peter Dinklage play in the MCU?  MODOK?

The Defenders is confirmed for a Summer 2017 release date (maybe June), and we now know a little more about Sigourney Weaver’s character, including a name: Alexandra.  Here’s the Entertainment Weekly cover with the team together:

According to Charlie Cox, The Defenders takes place “a few months” after Daredevil season 2.  They are really condensing the timeline for the Marvel Netflix corner of the universe.  Either there will have to be a major time-jump after The Defenders to catch them up to the timeline of the MCU proper or they will fall further and further behind Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the movies.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing, considering how separate they are keeping the Netflix shows from everything else, but I would like to see some major crossovers at some point, particularly with things like Avengers: Infinity War/Avengers 4 coming up.

This is intriguing:  after the “LMD” arc, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will still have one more arc to air this year.  I was kind of expecting as much, with 14 episodes left, but it’s nice to get the confirmation.

What are the Agents Koenig?

According to the President of ABC Entertainment, he is “bullish” on the prospects for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5, and expects it to air alongside The Inhumans in the fall.  In the same interview, he states that John Ridley is currently working on a rewrite of the script for his Marvel project.  Will we ever find out what it is?

It looks like The Inhumans will start filming in March.  This means they will need to start casting soon, and it also means they may be able to work things into the back half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.—at the very least they could attach a trailer to the season finale.

Following the previous comments, Ridley offered a bit of an update on his project:  he is “excited” for it and trying to make it unique.

We should be learning some more about the MCU’s two newest TV shows very soon.  Production Weekly revealed working titles for the two projects:  “Shadows” (Cloak and Dagger) and “Rugrats” (Runaways).  This probably means there’s some truth to the rumor that they will start filming next month, meaning that we will learn about casting and the like soon.

First bit of new information:  Cloak and Dagger will have a similar budget to the Marvel Netflix shows and will film in Louisiana.  This doesn’t necessarily mean it will be set in Louisiana, however.

Anything not related to the MCU that I find interesting

After all kinds of “will they, won’t they” speculation, it sounds like Legion will not be part of the MCU.  Makes sense.

It sounds like CGI Leia is not part of their plans for future Star Wars films.  I am relieved to hear that.
