The Weekly MCU Review for June 20

Another week, and more MCU news!  A few new details on Captain America: Civil War and Ant-Man, a whole bunch of X-Men and DC news, and even an update on the “Bromley Batman.”  Put some ketchup on your eggs, and catch-up (*ducks*) on your Marvel news!

My articles from the week

First up, my review of Daredevil episode 10, “Nelson v. Murdock,” in which both teams get torn apart.  What has been your favorite moment in Daredevil through episode 10?

The two Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes that I reviewed this week were season 1, episode 7, “The Hub” and episode 8, “The Well.”

So now that Spidey’s part of the MCU, how’s he going to be working into it?  Here are my thoughts.  But what do you think?

Here’s another Ant-Man TV spot.  How excited are you for this movie?  I’m going to start a series of articles looking forward to it in a couple of weeks, but I’m already pretty excited about seeing how it turns out!

And Disney released yet another Ant-Man poster, this time playing up the Avengers connections
Are all these posters making you even more excited for the movie, or are you already decided on whether or not you’re going to see it?

His first movie is still just under a month away from release, but Paul Rudd is already talking about his time on the set of Captain America: Civil War.  How much of a role do you expect him to play in Civil War?

So Mark Ruffalo is teasing even more that he will be appearing in Captain America: Civil War.  Do you want to see him in Civil War?

Here’s another photo from Civil War—but it might be a spoiler.

Rosario Dawson shared some information about her character and Daredevil season 2.  Are you excited for it?

Marvel Studios won’t be at Comic-Con this year, but Marvel TV will be, with both network shows represented.  Are you going to be at Comic-Con?

Along those same lines, Sony and Paramount aren’t going to be at Comic-Con, either.  Are you disappointed to see 3 studios skipping out this year?

Do you want to see Kenneth Branagh come back to direct Thor: Ragnarok?  Apparently Marvel might.

Anything not related to the MCU that I find interesting

Gambit finally found a director.  Which non-Apocalypse X-Men movie are you most looking forward to:  Wolverine 3, Deadpool, or Gambit?

It’s nice to know that even though Marvel and Fox don’t get along (see: breaking up the F4 and killing Wolverine), Marvel can still pay homage to the upcoming Deadpool movie.

So Gambit will not be showing up in Apocalypse.  Disappointed?

So the “Bromley Batman” has stepped out of the Shadows to clarify that he wants to be called… the Shadow.  I guess we can add one more to the list of comic book-inspired modern-day heroes, but this one is “across the pond.”

Speaking of Batman, they released some new information about the planned follow-up to Batman and Robin, titled Batman Unchained.  Apparently it would have starred Courtney Love as Harley Quinn and Nicholas Cage as the Scarecrow, and the two of them would have driven George Clooney’s Batman insane so he ended up in Arkham Asylum.  I have to admit, the idea of Nicholas Cage as the Scarecrow sounds pretty appropriate—he’d just have to be himself for 2 hours!  But I’m glad they cancelled this one and waited for the Christopher Nolan reboot.  Which comic book villain would you want to see Nicholas Cage play?

New details are coming out on the Flash and Aquaman’s cameos in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.  Are you looking forward to this movie?

And along the same lines, here are possible details on Aquaman’s connection to Suicide Squad.  What do you think?

Apparently DC is planning up to 10 films to be released in the next few years.  That’s not exactly unexpected, though how many years is “a few”?

Here’s a look at the Thing from Fant4stic without pants.  Is this something you ever wanted to see?

Denny’s is helping promote Fant4stic with a “Slamt4stic” menu.  What is your favorite dish on the menu?  The “Dr. Doom Lava Cake”?  The “Thing Burger”?

CBS released a timeline for its new Supergirl TV series, specifically detailing Superman’s place in their universe.

Who’s excited to see Jack Black the Panda again in Kung Fu Panda 3?

So according to Disney, they haven’t had any talks about Indiana Jones 5 yet.  Do you want to see a fifth Indiana Jones?  Personally, I’d be up for it as long as it doesn’t involve aliens or Shia LeBouf

Jack Huston left the Crow remake.  Do you think they need to remake it, or was the original movie good enough?

Here is a supposed leaked image of Leia’s costume for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  Are you excited for Episode 7 this December?

Jurassic World beat out The Avengers for the largest opening weekend of all time with $209 million in the U.S.  Wow.  I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m pretty sure my wife and I will go this week.  What did you think of it?

Marvel is making a major push on Amazon Kindle, with 12,000 more comics available there.  Are you going to use Kindle for your comics?
