My articles from the week

They are going to be deciding whether or not to renew Agent Carter for season two very soon, and here’s why I think they should renew it.  What are your reasons for renewing it (or not renewing it)?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did a lot to lead into the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron.  Here is my analysis.  Did you like how they used Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to set up Age of Ultron?

MCU News

Links to news articles and blog posts about the MCU

They only just started filming Captain America: Civil War this week, and Chris Evans is alreadytalking about Avengers: Infinity War.  Looking at the schedule… yikes.

Daniel Bruhl has now confirmed that he is playing Baron Helmut Zemo in Captain America: Civil War and then (according to rumors) in Doctor Strange.  So how do you think Zemo will connect those two movies?

Joss Whedon’s been talking a lot about the Avengers and the MCU for some reason lately!  Apparently the people on thefilm side weren’t too happy with him creating Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  I don’t see how they could be disappointed with it at this point; the movies and TV are working together very well, with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. providing a lot of connective tissue for the movies while simultaneously introducing new elements for future movies to explore.  But what do you think?  Is the MCU better off with or without the connected TV series (plural)?

From the Land of No-Duh comes this revelation from Chris Evans:  Cap is most likely a virgin!  My opinion, he’s too much of a “Boy Scout” to sleep around.  But what do you think?  Just keep it PG, guys.

We could have a new Spider-Man sooner than later!  Here’s another report of a frontrunner for the role.  Who’s your pick for Spider-Man Take 3?

Here’s an interview with the AoS showrunners talking about the Age of Ultron tie-in, end of the season, and other AoS topics from right after Tuesday’s episode.  What do you think?

There’s a rumor that Marvel and Netflix have started to plan out their “Netflix Phase Two” (note that the previous link was posted before Marvel announced Daredevil season 2 for next year, so you can just turn that slot into “Daredevil season 3”) and that one of the potential characters for Phase Two is thePunisher.  Do you want to see Frank Castle kill it (*ducks*) on Netflix?

So apparently KevinFeige would like the mutants back (I know, shocker, right?).  Do you want Marvel to reacquire them?  Do you think they will reacquire them?  Do you prefer sticking with The Inhumans as a semi-stand-in for the mutants?

So you know that movie that’s opening this weekend in the U.S.?  What was it… Maya the Bee Movie?  No, the other big release:  Avengers: Age of Ultron!  It’s supposed to make up to $230 million opening weekend.  What’s your estimate?  FYI, it made $27.6 million on Thursday alone (compare that to the $18.7 million that The Avengers made in Thursday previews).

News from Around Geekdom

Anything not related to the MCU that I find interesting

X-Men: Apocalypse is filming now, so we’ll be getting a lot of news and images from that.

So apparently JurassicWorld will be flat-out ignoring the sequels.  I’m not a huge fan of pretending that something is not canon when it’s always been canon (in other words, yes, the Star Wars prequels happened).  That being said, ignoring them without “de-canonizing” them is fine with me.  But how do you think they should handle the sequels?

From the other side of the Great Divide™ comes this article about the upcoming Arrow/Flash spinoff reportedly titled “Legends of Tomorrow.”  Do you watch the DCTVU?  Are you excited about this new series?

If there’s a StarWars movie marathon before The Force Awakens premiere near you, will you go?

The first look atStephen Amell (Arrow) as Casey Jones in TMNT2.  So are you excited about the second Michael Bay-ing of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Star Wars Rebels will have its season 2 premiere air on June 20.  Did you watch season 1?  Will you watch season 2?
