Another week, and more MCU news! Not quite as much happened this week as last, but we did find a few things out on the TV front, along with a little bit on Spider-Man: Homecoming. Put some ketchup on your eggs, and
catch-up on your Marvel news!

My articles from the week
First up for the week, my
thoughts on the rumor
that Valkyrie will appear in Thor: Ragnarok.
Continuing our reviews of Daredevil
season 2, here is episode 5, “Kinbaku.” What is your favorite part of the season?
Expectations
and review

Here
is my overview of the new heroes who will be making their MCU debuts in Captain
America: Civil War: Spider-Man and
Black Panther.
Finally, my wish list

posts about the MCU
I love how Marvel has been using
WHIH (pretty much the only TV news channel in the MCU) for viral marketing for
the last 2 movies. Case in point: The “Avengers Impact”
clip from Christine Everhart and political correspondent Will Adams.
News on Spider-Man: Homecoming: an Avenger
will be in it, but Michael Keaton will not.
After basically making the MCU
happen by helming the first two Iron Man movies, Jon Favreau is back
behind the camera to executive produce
Avengers: Infinity War.
Well this is disappointing: The Inhumans has lost its release date. I was actually looking forward to that movie;
hopefully it’s just being pushed for a Spider-Man sequel or something.
Congratulations to Jessica
Jones for winning a Peabody Award
for “Entertainment and Children’s Programming,” but is this series really
“child-friendly?”
Iron Fist has added two more supporting characters
in Joy and Ward Meachum, played by Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey,
respectively. Also, it has started
filming and a few set photos have trickled onto the Internet.
Eka Darville (Malcolm, Jessica
Jones) confirmed
that he will return for The Defenders.
That brings the number of characters that we know will be in the team-up
series up to 6: Daredevil, Jessica
Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Malcolm, and Claire.
Here
is the official synopsis for Cloak and Dagger:
“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.
My guess is that a showrunner
announcement will be coming within the next couple weeks, along with some
casting rumors. Most likely by Comic-Con we will know a lot more about it. It sounds like they
really want to make this happen soon.
Are you excited for this project?

Anything not related to the MCU
that I find interesting
Do you want to see all three human Lanterns
in the Green Lantern Corps movie?
Sy Fy has ordered a pilot
for Krypton, the Superman origin series that’s been teased for a couple
years. It sounds interesting, but
I wonder exactly what the point of it will be beyond “Hey, look at
Krypton! Isn’t it cool?”
Robert Downey Jr. is saying that Sherlock
Holmes 3 will start filming this year. Are you excited to see RDJ as Holmes again?
Ummm… what??? I’m not sure which is more concerning: Joaquin Phoenix playing Jesus or a movie
titled Mary Magdalene. Either
way, I am really not looking forward to having to watch this movie next
year and eviscerate it for all the ways it managed to miss the mark…
